In this category you will see a small collection of the iconic Spitfire and Seafire Versions which appeared during the war. Development of both varieties happened very quickly over the years. There were over 22 different Versions of the Spitfire alone in various Marks with countless upgrades and variations for specific roles in all sorts of purposes during the war. The beautifully engineered aircraft was constantly upgraded with interchangeable wings, increasingly more powerful Merlin and Griffon engines and better armament making it an excellent multi-role Fighter. The Naval version, renamed the Seafire due to the huge amount of restructuring needed for tougher conditions, was almost a disaster but became more successful and stayed in service.
